(ECNS) -- China on Friday condemned the U.S. decision to add several Chinese companies to its export control list and urged the U.S. to correct wrongdoings, saying it will take steps to safeguard its national interests.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce made the remarks during a press briefing in response to a question about the U.S. Commerce Department's decision to add several Chinese companies to its export control "Entity List."
The U.S. has been broadening the concept of national security, abusing export control measures, and willfully exercising long-arm jurisdiction. It has imposed sweeping sanctions on several entities, including Chinese companies, the spokesperson noted.
These actions have severely affected the stability and security of global industrial and supply chains, the spokesperson stressed, adding that China would take all necessary measures to protect its enterprises.
